About us

Zangs Farm all started back in the early 1980’s, when the owners, Laura and Billy Zangs oldest son, Larry, began selling corn off of a red Datsun truck in 1981. That same year, the Anne Arundel County Farmers Market started and we have been active vendors ever since. Peach and apple trees were planted in the Spring of 1981 and were first harvested in 1984.

The roadside stand (pictured) first became open in 1982, where we started selling corn, melons, and tomatoes. To this day, the roadside stand is still operated by the Zang family throughout the summer.

The farm has evolved so much throughout the years. Tim Zang has continued the peach operation, to what we know as, “Zangs Famous Peaches.” With over 200 peach trees including white and yellow varieties, be sure to find one that satisfies your taste buds. Tim has also expanded the farm by adding blackberries, raspberries, grapes, and asian pears.

Laura Zang always enjoyed planting flowers in the summer. We first started with a few rows of Zinnias and we would sell them at the market in plastic vases for just 3.75 $ a cup. After college, Laura’s granddaughter, Sarah, decided to specialize in field grown cut flowers by adding over 20 different varieties, including the top favorites; Zinnias, Sunflowers, and Dahlias.

In 2023, our Roadside Stand received a much needed uplift. We preserved its original wagon base.
